End of Watch Review

End of Watch is directed and written by David Ayer staring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña as two Los Angles police officers who work in the South Centeral Los Angles area. The film it's self was good. i enjoyed viewing it. Even though there where a few things i did not like about the film i felm Ayer did an excellent job. The problem is i felt it was trying to be a documentory because of the way it was filmed. The movie currently has a 85% on  Rotten Tomato and i would agree with that if i had to give it a letter grade i would give it a high B or a 8/10. Picture would be a 6/10, sound would be a 8/10 and acting would be a 10/10. Acting; i felt that Jake GYllenhaal who plays officer Bryan Taylor and Michael Peña who plays officer Mike Zavala both did an amazing job i felt as if they really where partners fighting crime. Picture; this was the only thing holding me back. Because it was filmed like it was from a hand held camera and a camera from the chest view. Sound; the sound was really good i felt as if i was really hear the gunshots and tires screeching in every shootout and chase scene. Because of the violence i can see why it was rated R. It was very graphic and not for young eyes because of the violence and other activites i wont go into talking about. I would recomend this Film who enjoy Testosterone Films alot of action and some violence.

The Usual Suspects/ Film Noir review

An ugly word that often gets unfairly tossed around in film criticism is manipulative. This word seems like sudden death for any movie, and is often used to describe a film that tries to play to the emotions of its audience. A more accurate way of using this term is a film that has little confidence in what it does and simply tries to throw things at the audience, hoping for validity. The Usual Suspects is a great example. While it certainly does paint an interesting picture, the characters are stock, and without interesting play between the players, it over compensates with plot twists and story holes, mixed rather uninspired interrogation scenes. There is little to enjoy in The Usual Suspects other than trying to put together its story, and once you do that you realize it is not even an entertaining story, but simply feeds the audience so little, that there is little payoff to learning the surprises. But i feel it had some unique dialog and felt that with a little more effort the director could have done a much better job with the film All in all in i felt it was an interesting movie. Overall i would rate the whole movie a 7/10. In sound i would give it an 7/10. Picture would be a 8/10 and acting would be a 5/10.
